freelisting

Through freelisting we identified:
-
Ideal navigation categories
-
Subcategories and their location within each category
card sorting
1. open card sort

-
created 13 cards
-
8 categories
-
7 participants
-
results indicated that we had a few strong categories however we did not get the results we were expecting
-
realized that some of our cards and categories were too vague
-
needed to condense the categories and make more specific
-

2. ideal card sort

-
Created 21 cards
-
6 categories
-
3 participants
-
Completed “ideal card sort” after open card sort
-
Eliminated and changed a few categories and added cards
3. closed card sort

-
created 15 cards
-
6 categories
-
8 participants
-
yielded stronger results from the changes we made
-
“Club Info” was much more successful than what we previously had (“Members”)
-
changes made to the cards also helped users identify their ideal category more successfully
